2017 Red Lily Tempranillo
100% Tempranillo. Powerfully Structured.
Bolander's Lily, a rare species of red lily, is found in the Sistiyou Mountains of southwestern Oregon. Red Lily Tempranillo is also a rarity - a unique expression of the complex and intense nature of this ancient Spanish varietal.
Tasting notes
This 100 % Tempranillo is a magnificent multi-dimensional wine. Full-bodied and opulent with terrific purity of variety, an intriguing wet stone-like minerality, and a sensational perfume of crushed boysenberry, espresso, and nutmeg. Dark chocolate, black cherries, cedar, and dried plums fill the palate with plenty of structure underlying the luxurious fruit levels. Notes of barrel char and caramel add further complexity through the long, extracted finish.
